The 1910 Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA (ED#1209, page 127A) records Gustav A. Wetzel as a student at Girard located at South College and Corinthian Avenue. Both his parents are listed as being from Germany. The residence has some 1500 young men listed in this census.

His physical description is tall in height and medium build with blue eyes and dark hair.
