The 1860 Federal Census for Earl Township, Lancaster Co., Pa. records Henry (52) in the household of John Rannels (75). John is a carpenter and Henry is a Coach Maker.
The 1870 Federal Census for Lancaster City, Pa. records Henry (64 - Coach Maker) in the household of Levi Rannels. He is probably a brother to Levi.

The May 14, 1887 edition of The New Holland Clarion records on page 4 a notice for the Estate of Harry Rannels posted by Levi Rannels, the Estate Adminsitrator. The October 8, 1887 edition of The New Holland Clarion records Harry Rannels' estate to be sold on Oct. 29, 1887. It includes his real estate: A Lot or Piece of Ground containing about 85 Perches, situated in the Village of New Holland ... on which are erected a 1 1/2 story Log Weather-Boarded House, Summer Kitchen, and other improvements; and property: 1 Bedstead, 1 bureau, chest, table, chairs, stove and many other articles.
