The 1910 Federal Census for Elk Creek District, Grayson Co., VA, District 52, page 41A, dated April 28, 1910 records John E. (50) and Sallie L. (51) Scott and their son William R. Scott (9). John is a Salesman at a Dry Goods Store. Also in the household is a servant, Mollie Delp (13).
Interesting to note that by 1920 John has moved to Washington County while his brother, William, has moved back to Grayson County: The 1920 Federal Census for Emory Township, Gladespring Magisterial District, Washington Co., VA, District 149, page 94B, dated January 3, 1920 records John (60) and Sallie (62) Scott with their son William Scott (18). John is a Retail Merchant.
John married Sallie L. circa 1898. (Sallie L. was born in Aug 1857 in Tennessee and died after 1920 in Emory Township, Washington Co., VA.)
