James was a devout member of the Catholic faith while his wife was a member of the Methodist faith. He came to Guernsey Co., Ohio in 1890 and worked at the Cambridge Iron and Steel Works called the Rolling Mills. The April 16, 1891 edition of the Cambridge (Ohio) Jeffersonian Newspaper reports the engagement and marriage of James McMahon and Laura Turner. see notes on his father, Daniel McMahon, for additional family facts and exerts from the book: "Portrait & Biographical Record of Guernsey Co., Ohio" published in 1895. ![]() James married Laura B. Turner, daughter of Milton Turner and Henrietta Urban, on 9 Apr 1891 in Cambridge, Guernsey Co., Ohio. (Laura B. Turner was born on 4 Jun 1872 in Georgetown, Guernsey Co., Ohio and died on 14 Jun 1960 in Trumbull Co., Ohio.) |
