The 1920 Federal Census for Windsor District, Isle of Wight Co., Va. (District 5, page 241B) records Alphonso F. (40) and Ava C. (44) Pierce with no children and owners of their farm.

The WWI Draft Regostration Card for Alphonsa Franklin Pierce (sic) in Isel of Wight Co., VA dated Sept 12, 1918 records his date of birth as December 13m 1879. He is living in Carrsville, Isle of Wight Co., Va and married to Ava C. Pierce. He is a self employed farmer and signs in name A. F. Pierce. His physical description is medium height and slender build with grey eyes and black hair.

The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before February 16, 1897) for Alphonso Franklin Pierce dated April 27, 1942 lists his date of birth as Decemeber 13, 1880 in Isle of Wight Co., VA.
