Peggy'd daughter, Tiffany, related her mother's death via Feb 22, 2006:
I have some sad news. My mother passed away Thursday night. That is the reason I haven't responded to some of your e-mails. Rob, Caine and I returned from WV last night. I stayed home from work today to try to regain some sanity. When we left, my step-dad and step-sister still hadn't had a court hearing to try to keep Jessica (my niece). I couldn't stay any longer. It was just too difficult. Thank you ahead of time for your condolences. If anyone would like to call, here's my number: 740-927-5195. But it's not necessary.

Thank you for your condolences. The last 2 weeks have been harder than I could have ever imagined. My husband and son have been wonderful to me. But, nothing takes the place of a parent. Yes, she had been sick for quite awhile. But I didn't realize it was life threatening. She was to turn 60 the Sunday after she died. I had talked to her on Wednesday night and all seemed well. We talked about my family going down to spend her birthday with her. To say the least, she wasn't happy about turning 60. She passed away sometime Thursday night in her sleep. My niece discovered her Friday morning. My step-dad has received temporary custody of Jessica and she is now staying with my step-sister. My half sister Robin (Jessica's mother) is furious. Deep down she knows she can't take care of Jessica properly but drug addiction has a tendency to cloud her judgment. Grieving my father at 10 and grieving my mother at 33 are two completely different pains. I have to say I don't think my heart has ever felt so broken. My sister Rita came to the viewing. We have began communicating again. I talked to Bobby briefly the day after Mom passed and even then he really didn't have much to say. I have told Rita about you and Robert. I believe she's in shock. She had heard the same stories I have about there being an oldest son named after Dad. She's not as hopeful as I about getting to know him better. Rita grew up having brothers so adding another isn't a big deal to her. She understands that I grew up mostly with it being just Mom and myself. I miss Mom desperately. I do understand Robert not wanting to "upset" his step-father's memory. At least my head does, but my heart doesn't. I do my best not to take it personal because I'm know it's not. I don't know how I would handle a situation like his. I'm not that close to my step-father. Robert was very lucky to have someone step into a vacant parent position and love him as much as his step-father did.
