The 1850 Federal Census for the Southern District, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, page 123B, dated November 21, 1850 records Nancy Dodson (50 - VA) with her children Felix (27), Joshua G. (25), Elizabeth (16), Allison (15), Rebecca (12), William (10), and Josiah (7). Also in the household is Elizabeth Dodson (22 - VA) who is the wife of Felix Dodson. Nancy has real estate valued at $3,480 including 20 slaves and her son, Joshua, has ownership of 1 slave.

Apparently, by 1860, Nancy Dodson has died in that most of her children are living with her son, Felix, each of the children have an ownership in several slaves ... see general notes on Felix Dodson.

Nancy married Joel Dodson on 7 Oct 1822 in Lundenburg Co., VA. (Joel Dodson was born on 27 Mar 1797 in Halifax Co., VA, died in Dec 1844 in Pittsylavania Co., VA. and was buried in Dodson/Clark Family Cemetery.)
