The 1880 Federal Census for Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Pa. (ED#75, page 216A) on June 7, 1880 records Jesse Stahl (44) with wife Maria (36) and children Charles P. (13), Elizabeth G. (10), John B. M. (7), Henry Albert (4), George R. W. (2), and William E. (3/12). Jesse's brother John is living nearby.

The 1900 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Cumberland Co., Carlisle, Ward 1, District 2, page 28B records Jessie (Jan 1836) and Maria C. (Dec 1843) Stahl with children Charles P. (Dec 1867), John B. (Sept 1873), George R. (Nov 1877), and Jesse H. (Feb 1883) living at 327 East Louther Street. Jessie and Maria have been married for 38 years and have had 6 children of which 5 are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Cumberland Co., Carlisle, Ward 2, District 4, page 43B records Jesse (74) and Maria C. (66) Stall (sic) with children Charles P. (33) and John (27) living at 35 East Street. [The age of 27 years for John is not correct ... he is probably not living there and has been mentioned to the census taker] Jesse and Maria have been married for 36 years and have had 9 children of which 4 are still living.
