The 1900 Federal Census for Martic Township, Southern District, Lancaster Co., PA (ED#89, page 217B - one page over from his son, John H. Stokes and family) records Daniel R. (Sept 1851 - PA/PA/PA) And Anna C. (Feb 1853 - PA/PA/PA) Stokes and children Jacob R. (June 1878), Daniel R. Jr (Aug 1883), Florence M. (Aug 1885), Barbara A. (Feb 1887), Willis E. (Dec 1888), Mary A. (Nov 1890), Minnie E. (July 1892), Joseph H. (Nov 1893), and Howard H. (July 1896). John is a farmer and has been married for 27 years. Anna has had 14 children of whom 12 are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census for Martic Township, Southern District, Lancaster Co., PA (ED#119, page 16B) records Daniel Stokes Sr. (58) with his wife Anna (57) and children Minnie (17) and Howard (13). John is a farmer while Minnie is listed as a housekeeper for her father and Howard as a worker on his father's farm. Daniel has been married for 37 years. Anna has had 15 children of whom 11 are still living.

The 1920 Federal Census for Martic Township, Lancaster Co., PA (ED#105, page 68B) records Daniel R. Stokes (68) with his son, Willis Stokes (31) farming along the Rawlinsville Road.
