Research Notes:
The following is from http://genforum.genealogy.com psoted by Roy Coleman on Sept 6, 2002: Richard Coleman, married his first cousin, Abigail Jayne, who was a daughter of Henry Jayne. Henry Jayne was a brother to that Abigail Jayne, that was, married to Peter Coleman Sr, and the mother of Richard Coleman. Henry named his daughter after his sister, so Richard and Abigail were first cousins. Richard Coleman and Abigail, his wife, are burried on Lower Pompey Creek, in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Pike Co, KY. There is no marker; however, Richard's son, Abraham Coleman and his wife Rebecca Adkins are burried there also. Abraham Coleman, son of Richard, was the first Coleman born in Floyd Co, KY, now called Pike Co, KY in the year of 1808. There is a marker. Abraham and his wife Rebecca Adkins, had a son named Riley Coleman. Riley married Lucy Ramey. Riley Coleman, a Civil War veteran, and also his brother Nathaniel Coleman, served in the same unit, 39th KY voluenteers. Both men are burried on Lower Pompey Creek, in the Coleman Family Cemetery, Pike Co, KY and do have markers. Both men survived the war although Riley was wounded. Riley had a son named Silas Crittenden Coleman who married Nancy Jayne Justice, daughter of John W. Justice and Darcus Thacker of River Hurricane, Pike Co, KY. Silas and Nancy Jayne had a son named Roosevelt Coleman, born 1905, died 1964. Roosevelt, married Verna Chapman, daughter of Flem Chapman and Victoria Varney. Roosevelt and Verna Coleman are my father and mother. Peter Coleman and Abigail Jayne of Orange Co, NY are my 6th, gen, grandparents. Roy Coleman 9/06/02.
A reply to Roy Coleman's post: Richard and his wife are not buried in the same cemetery as Abraham and the rest of our descendants. Richard is buried at the mouth of what used to be called Wolfpen, a holler off of Lower Pompey. Abraham is buried near the head of Pompey in the Coleman Family Cemetery. Carl Coleman Oct 4, 2003
Richard married Abigail Jayne. (Abigail Jayne died before 1850.)
