The 1940 Federal Census for the Chatham District, Pittyslvania Co., Virginia, District 72-13, page 161B, dated April 14, 1940 records the widow Molly B. Adkins (55) with her son Floyd W. Adkins (33) and his wife Carrie L. Adkins (27) and their daughter, Bobby J. Adkins (1) living along Route 993. Molly has completed 3 years of schooling, while Floyd has completed 0 years of schooling and Carrie 4 years of schooling.
