Mrs. Lillie J. Adkins Rites Set Tomorrow
The funeral of Mrs. Lillie Jones Adkins, who died at her home in Callands yesterday at the age of 83, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock from Whitmell Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Death was apparently caused by a heart attack.
Mrs. Adkins was a native of Franklin County and a daughter of the late John Thomas Jones and Angie Haskins Jones. She was born May 24, 1878.
For the past 35 years she has made her home at Whitmell, and at the time of her death was living with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Harville. Her husband, Benjamin Franklin Adkins, died in April 1950.
Mrs. Adkins was a member of the Whitmell Christian Church.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Mary Harville, Mrs. J. R. Mills, and Moseby Adkins of Dry Fork, Mrs. Eugene S. Eanes of Draper, N. C., J. T. Adkins of Ringgold and William T. and Otis K. Adkins of Danville; the following brothers and sisters: Sam Jone of Daytona Beach, Fla., Miss Grace Jones and Mrs. Janie Crowder of Richmond and Mrts. Lula Trotter of Meadows Field, and 25 grandchildren.
The body is at Wrenn-Yeatss Funeral Home and the family at the residence of Mrs. Harville at Whitmell.
Lillie married Benjamin Franklin Adkins, son of Caleb Adkins and Elizabeth (Betsey) Napier, circa 1895 in Pittsylvania Co, VA.
