James Anderson Lucas

 General Notes:
James enlisted in Company G, 4th Infantry Regiment Virginia as a Private on April 17, 1861 at the age of 24. He was taken POW on March 23, 1862 at Kernstown, VA and exchanged on August 5, 1862 then detailed on February 16, 1863 (Acting ordnance sergt). He returned to regular duty on September 20, 1863.
James was wounded on November 27, 1863 at Payne's Farm, VA (Right elbow) and taken to Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond, Va. where he died of wounds on January 5, 1864 in Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond, VA
