James Henry Guthrie (p. 51) studied law, was admitted to the bar and for a number of years was a prominent lawyer of Lynchburg, Va. Afterwards he moved to South Boston, Va. He was prominent in Masonic circles and an active member of the Baptist Church. He married June 28, 1877, Lelia Wright, who was born Feb. 14, 1860, in Lynchburg, Va., (see the Wrights, Allied Families). James Henry Guthrie died June 6, 1922, in South Boston, Va.
