David Hill Guthrie (above) married Dec. 3, 1846, Mary Catherine Brown. She was born about 1830 and was a daughter of Ambrose E. and Nancy Brown, of Whitesville, Halifax County, Va. Throughout his life, David Hill Guthrie was a farmer in his native county. During the Civil War he was a soldier in the Army of the Confederacy. He and his wife were lifelong members of the Catawaba Baptist Church. She died in 1890. He died in 1897.

Richard Edward Guthrie went to the State of Missouri when 19 years of ago He married June 21, 1888, Ella Price, of Ohio. She is a daughter of Rev. Hugh Price, a minister of the Christian Church. Richard Edward Guthrie and family live at La Monte, Mo.
