Holland (March 1895) living with his parents Abram (July 1855 [1845, listed age 44] - VA/VA/VA) and Emerline (January 1842 [1862, listed age 38] - VA/VA/VA) Holland and siblings Leora M. (May 1883), Bessie R. (Jan 1885), Augustus R. (Jan 1887), Vickie E. (Jan 1889), Arnie N. (Feb 1892), and Ada (Sept 1899). Abram is a farmer and has been married for 18 years. Emeline has had 8 children of whom 7 are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census for Holy Neck District, Nansemond Co., VA, District 12, page 147B, dated April 19, 1910 records David H. Holland (14) living with his parents Abram P. (53 - VA/VA/VA) and Emerline (50 - VA/VA/VA) Holland and siblings Arnie N. (17), Ada (9), and Abram T. (6). Abram is a farmer and has been married for 28 years. Emerline has had 8 children of whom 8 are still living. This is the 2nd marriage for Abram and 1st for Emerline.

The WWI Draft Registration Card for David Hurley Henary Holland dated June 5, 1917 records his date of birth as April 6, 1895 in Holland, [Nansemond Co.] VA. He is living in Whaleyville and married with one child. He is medium height and slender build with blue eyes and light hair. He signs his card as David Hurley Henry Holland.

The WWII Draft Registration Card for David Hurley Holland dated April 27, 1942 records his date of birth as April 16, 1896 in Nansemond Co., VA. The name of the person who will always know his address is Mrs. Amand Holland. Amand is should probably be Amanda and would be consistent with the 1930 census recording his wife as Mandy. (See general notes on his 1st wife Allie Roberts) His physical description is 5' 10" 140lbs with gray eyes, brown hair, and light complexion.
