The Daily Progress of Charlottesville, VA - (Dec/10/2004) - Obituary for Mary Anne Pitman

Mary Anne Pitman, 93, of Floral City, Fla., formerly of Charlottesville, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in the Hospice Care Center of Brooksville, Fla.

A native of Howard County, Md., she was born Feb. 20, 1911, to the late George and Gertrude Vaughn Phelps. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey in 1982.

She moved to Florida after retiring as a Registered Nurse from Martha Jefferson Hospital with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda A. Mitchell, and her husband, Richard, of Floral City, Fla.; three sisters, Hilda Wing and Lois Kimball, both of Clermont, Fla., and Jane Borum of Blackstone; five grand-children, Laura, Margaret, Mary, Lillian and Ethan; one great-grandchild, Aubrie; and by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be con-ducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in the chapel of the Hill and Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at the funeral home.

Mary married Aubrey Jackson Pitman. (Aubrey Jackson Pitman was born on 17 May 1911 and died on 31 May 1982 in Lake Co., Florida.)
