The 1930 Federal Census for Castalia, Nash Co., N.C., District 4, page 243A, dated April 16, 1930 records John T. (65 - NC/NC/NC) and Kate (58 - NC/NC/NC) Strum with children Lily (27), Tom (20), and Sally (17). John is a farmer and has been married for 38 years.
