From several emails referencing Jacob Borst from Bob Borst, March 15 & 22, 2011:
He was born in what was then part of Bavaria (Landstuhl). He had 2 sons John William and Jacob Aaron (my great-grandfather) and a daughter Emma. Jacob was actually born in 1857 and died in 1927 and worked for the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad for 54 ½ years. He married Mary Fleer and they had 5 children. The oldest was Patronella (Nellie) Francis, Charles A (my grandfather) F. Joseph and John.
If you would like any additional information, feel free to ask. I have a family tree from Catherine Felix and Jacob going forward, which was part of a family reunion about 15 years ago. I also have a copy of the emigration paperwork for Jacob.

Hi Bo,
Let me check the family tree info and see what I come up with. If I am able to scan, I will and send to you; otherwise, I may have to send by mail. My side is Jacob and Catherine's son Jacob. John, Jacob's brother was the other side of the family. Leon Borst would be a descendant of John and he did most of the research on that side of the family. I believe he still lives in the Reading area.
Anyway, I believe I have a fairly extensive list of people and would be happy to copy and send. Feel free to pick it apart and use what you need.
The web site [I found] stated Jacob Borst and looking further went to the Hagen family files information, so yes, that is where I was at. I got off the phone with my Dad, Bob Sr. (b. 1930) who said that George would have been his dad's cousin.
Again, I will dig up whatever I can.

PS I was told that Mary Fleer was somehow related to the Fleer candy folks in Philadelphia. Jacob (the son) was originally from Philadelphia and later move to Reading according to my Aunt Ida (now deceased).

Jacob married Catherine. (Catherine was born circa 1822 in Pennsylvania and died on 13 Mar 1878 in Reading, Berks Co., PA..)
