The 1850 Federal Census for Snow Creek, Stokes Co., NC page 135A records Samuel (40-VA) and Mary (40-NC) Corn with children Frances (18-VA), Sally (16-VA) [Sarah Ann Corn], John (14), Mary (12-NC), Jesse (10-NC), Joshua (8-NC), Samuel (5-NC), James (3-NC). Nearby is the Perrin and Lettetia Joyce family: Perrin (45) and Lettetia (33) with children Caroline (17), John (13), Levisten (10), Oma (7), Tempy (5), and David (2) ... the above daughters of the 2 familes, Caroline Joyce and Sarah Corn, will become brides of Jeremiah B. Hodges.

The 1860 United States Federal Census for Stokes Co., North Carolina, Danbury P.O., page 179A records Samuel (50) and Mary (49) Corn with children John (24), Jesse (20), Joshua (18), Jackson (17), James (16), Sandford (8), and George (4). By 1880 Samuel has died: 1870 United States Federal Census for Elk Garden, Russell Co., Virginia, District 71, page 142A records the widow Mary Corn (70) living with her son S. N. Corn (25).
