The 1850 Federal Census for Henry Co., VA, page 171B, dated November 28, 1850 records Lucy Manning (15) with her mother Charity Manning (40 - VA). Page 181B of the same Franklin Co. Census records Tarleton Maning (sic) (13) living at what appears to be a Boarding School.

See general notes on her husband, John W. Terry, for the 1860 census record that has Charity and Tarleton living with the John & Lucy Terry family.

The 1900 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., VA, District 70, page 217B, dated June 11, 1900 records the widow Lucy Terry (Sept 1838) living with her son William Terry (Oct 1858) and his wife Julia A. (Dec 1869) and their children Bertha M. (Oct 1889), Charsity L. (Oct 1889), Mary L. (Jan 1892), George W. (Jan 1896), William (Jan 1896), Sallie (Oct 1897), and Martha D. (Oct 1899). William is a Blacksmith and has been married to Julia for 13 years. They have had 7 children all of whom are still living.

Lucy married John Wesley Terry. (John Wesley Terry was born circa 1830 in Virginia and died after 1880 in Leatherwood, Henry Co., Virginia.)
