The 1910 Federal Census for Leacock Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, District 102 records Dan W. Becher (26) boarding at the home of Abram and Minnie Kauffman. He indicates that he has been married for 4 years but his wife is not listed here.

The WWI Draft Registration Card for Daniel Webster Becker records his date of birth as August 10, 1884. He is living with his wife, Lydia Becker, at 404 West Orange Avenue in the city of Lancaster. He is employed as a Bar Clerk at the Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg. He is medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair.

By 1920 it appears that Dan and Lydia have moved to New York City: The 1920 Federal Census for Manhattan Assembly District 11, New York, New York, District 824 records Daniel W. (36 - PA/PA/PA) and Lydia (25) Becher living on Amsterdam Avenue. Daniel is a Stewart [Steward?] for what looks to be a String Car [Steam Car??]?!?

The 1930 Federal Census for Queens County, New York, New York, District 647, page 71A, dated April 27, 1930 records Daniel (40 - PA/PA/PA) and Lydia (35 - PA/PA/PA) Becker with their son, Daniel Becker Jr. (8 - PA). Daniel and Lydia have been married for 12 years.

The 1940 Federal Census for Queens County, New York, New York, District 41-132, page 1904B, dated June 8, 1940 records Daniel (57 - PA) and Lydia (43 - PA) Becker with their sone, Daniel Becker Jr. (18). Daniel and Lydia have completed 8 years of schooling. Daniel is a Steward for the Railroad earning $1,700 working 40 weeks during the last year.

Daniel married Lydia A. Walters, daughter of Ira Walters and Mary Ann Fretz, on 27 Jun 1916 in Lancaster City, Lancaster Co., PA. (Lydia A. Walters was born circa 1895 in Reamstown, Lancaster Co., PA and died after 1940 in Queens, New York, New York.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage license names both Daniel's & Lydia's parents. Daniel's occupation is listed as Bar Clerk ... the same as on his WWI Draft Registration Card.
