Glenn E. Barr, 78, of 771 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Harrisburg Hospital.
Born June 27, 1921, in Lebanon, he was son of the late Edward and Florence Kuntz Barr.
He was retired from the Naval Supply Depot, SPCC, Mechanicsburg, where he was a disbursing officer. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WW II.
Mr. Barr was a member of the Letort United Methodist Church, St. John's Lodge 260 F & AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Carlisle Kiwanis Club and American Legion Post 101, Carlisle. He was a life member of Carlisle Elks, and had served as the third president of the Carlisle Jaycees.
Survived by his wife, Louise Hale Barr; a daughter, Jo Ann Powell of Modena, N.Y., and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, South Middleton Township with the Rev. Chris Renner officiating. Burial will be held in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
Glenn married Louise E. Hale, daughter of Clyde Shuler Hale and Agnes (Aggie) Mary Forry. (Louise E. Hale was born on 19 Nov 1920 in Cumberland Co, PA, died on 27 Apr 2009 in Arizona and was buried in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA.)
