Louise E. Barr, 88, of Arizona and a former Carlisle resident for 61 years, died April 27, 2009 in Arizona.
Born Nov. 19, 1920 in New Cumberland, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Agnes Forry Hale. She was the widow of Glenn E. Barr who died May 7, 2000.
Mrs. Barr was a retired supervisor from the former Ships Parts Control Center, now the Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg.
She was a member of Letort United Methodist Church, Carlisle, the Alturas United Methodist Church in Florida and the Green Valley Community Church in Green Valley, AZ.
Surviving are a daughter: Jo Ann Powell and her husband, David of Arizona; a granddaughter: Angela Powell of Utah and several nieces.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
