The 1870 Federal Census for Millcreek Township, Lebanon Co., PA, Myerstown P.O. page 199A records Cyrus (36 - PA) and Clementine (37 - PA) Forry with children John (18), Daniel (12), Adam (11), Rebecca (8), Frank (5), Harry C. (3), and William (1). Cyrus works on a farm [his fathers] and has real estate valued at $2,000 and a personal estate valued at $200. Next door are George (65) and Elizabeth (69) Forry, parents of Cyrus, with their daughter Rebecca (28). One page over (page 199B) is Emma Bollinger and her family, future wife of John C. Forry.

The 1880 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Lebanon Co., Jackson Township, District 126 records John C. (28) and Emma (24) Forry with son Harry C. (5/12-Dec).

The 1900 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Perry Co., Duncannon, District 151 records John C. (May 1853) and Emma (July 1857) Forry with children Aggie M. (July 1884), Hattie L. (June 1887), Milton G. (Aug 1888), Lizzie C. (July 1891), Nora C. (Nov 1893), and Ira M. (Aug 1896).

The 1910 Federal Census for Lower Allen Township, Cumberland Co., District 20, page 216A taken on April 25, 1910 records John C. (57) and Emma (53) Forry living on Bridge Street. Also in the household are their married daughter Agnes Hale (25) with her daughter Dorothy (8/12) as well as unmarried daughters Hattie Forry (22), Lucy Forry (18) [aka Lizzie C. Forry], Norah Forry (16) and son Ira Forry (13). John and Emma have been married for 33 years and have had 9 children of whom 7 are still living. Agnes has been married for 2 years. John is a Fireman at the Hosiery Mill.

The 1920 Federal Census for Lower Allen Township, Cumberland Co., District 21, page 312A taken on January 26, 1920 records John C. (67) and Emma (63) Forry with daughter Hattie S. Forry (31) and widowed daughter Lizzie C. Romberger (27) with her son Gilbert F. Romberger (2 8/12) living in Fifth Street. John is a general laborer.

By 1930 Emma is a widow and living with her daughter, Nora, and her husband, Earl Tritt, in New Cumberland, Cumberland Co., PA, District 31. Page 150B of the census records the widowed mother-in-law Emma Forry (74) living with F. Earl (38) and Nora C. (36) Tritt living at 315 Fifth Street. Also in the household is Nora's niece Louise E. Hale (9 4/12). The 1930 census also records the daughters Hattie Forry and Elizabeth [Forry] Romberger living nearby: The 1930 Federal Census for New Cumberland, Cumberland Co., PA, District 31, page 159B records Hattie L. Forry (42) living with her sister Elizabeth C. Romberger (38) at 309 Tenth Street. Also in the household are Elizabeth's son, Gilbert Romberger (12), and nieces and nephew Dorothy E. Hale (20), Elva M. Hale (16), and Ira C. Forry (17). Elizabeth indicates that she is married while Hattie is single. Both are working in the Hosiery Mill. [Note: Ira C. Forry (Tig) is the son of Ira M. and Ester Keil Forry. Ira was killed in an accident in Illinois in 1922 and has come to live with family.]

The families are living in Millcreek Township, Lebanon Co., PA in the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census records. John marries Emma Bollinger whose family is 1 page over in the 1870 census.
