MARY FRANCES KING DAUGHTREY
Mrs. Robert C. Daughtrey died at her home near Elwood, Nansemond county, Wednesday, November 14, 1894, after a long illness. Mrs. Daughtrey was greatly beloved for her many excellent qualities, and her death will be a serious loss to her family and the community. She was the sister of Messrs. Charles T. and John King, of Windsor, Va.

The 1850 Federal Census for the Nansemond Co., VA, page 181A / 181B, dated October 11, 1850 records Mary F. King (12 - Nansemond Co.) living with her parents Michael (38 - Nansemond Co.) Ann E. (28 - Nansemond Co.) King and siblings Ann V. (10 - Nansemond Co.), William C. (6 - Nansemond Co.), Robert (4 - Nansemond Co.), and Charles T. (1 - Nansemond Co.). Also in the household are Martha A. Turner (10 - Nansemond Co.) and Mary A. Brenan (20 - Nansemond Co.). Michael has real estate valued at $2,000 and owns 9 slaves.

The 1860 Federal Census for the Lower Parish, Nansemond Co., VA, Suffolk P. O., page 528, dated August 2, 1860 records Michael (48 - VA) Ann E. (39 - VA) King and children Ann V. (19 - VA), William F. (16 - VA), Charles T. (12 - VA), Michael W. (10 - VA), Judith A. (8 - VA). Also in the household are Martha A. Turner (10 - Nansemond Co.) and Mary A. The 1880 Federal Census for the Chuckatuck, Nansemond Co., VA, District 52, page 22A, dated June 12, 1880 records the widow Ann E. King (60 - VA/VA/VA) living with her son, Charles T. King (31) and his wife Marey A. King (29) and children William C. (4), Charlie E. (2), and Bettie (8/12). Also in the household is Charles' brother, John King (15).
