They have had 7 children of whom 6 are still living.

The 1920 Federal Census for Williamsburg, James City Co., Virginia, District 165, page 114A, dated January 14, 1920 records Reuben W. (47 - VA/VA/VA) and Fannie E. (46 - VA/VA/VA) Owens with children John S. (17), Mary F. (16), Nellie M. (14), Warren (12), and Walter D. (10) living at 178 Henry Street. Reuben is employed as an Automobile Mechanic.

The 1930 Federal Census for Williamsburg, James City Co., Virginia, District 4, page 127A, dated April 9, 1930 records Ruben W. (58 - VA/VA/VA) and Annie E. (57 - VA/VA/VA) Owens with sons John R. (27) and Rogers W. (30) living on Duke of Glouster Street. Ruben is employed as a Proprietor of a Garage while Annie is an Assistant at the Garage, John is a Clerk at a Hardware Store, and Rogers is a Taxi Driver. They rent their home at $35 / month.
