Obituary for Bernice Virginia Doughtie
Bernice Virginia Doughtie, 83, of the 600 block of Fairfield Drive, died Feb. 18, 1999, at her residence.
Mrs. Doughtie was born in old South Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Lena Bell Waters and Charles Ashburn Doughtie. She was the widow of Eric R. Doughtie. She was predeceased by her brothers, James L. Doughtie and Charles A. Doughtie, and her sisters, Edna Holloman, Lena Jamison and Ruby Wright.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia A. Bradt and her husband, Thomas; her granddaughter, Tricia A. Bradt; her brother-in-law, Curtis M. Wright, all of Chesapeake; a sister-in-law, Jackie Doughtie of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Doughtie was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Great Bridge, with the Rev. Robert Sowder officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will be at 628 Fairfield Drive, Chesapeake.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center, Chesapeake General Hospital, 736 North Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
