DANVILLE, Va. - Laura Edith Gibson Perdue, 82, of 238 Turpin Street, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 at Danville Regional Medical Center. She was in declining health for 10 years.
Born Dec. 1, 1921 in Pittsylvania Co., she was the daughter of the late Rosey Addison Gibson and the late Lillie Elma Adkins Gibson.
She spent most of her life in Danville. She was a graduate of Whitmell High School, class of 1941. She had worked for Dan River, Inc. as a timekeeper, was retired and was a homemaker. She was a member of Sandy Shores Baptist Church.
She married Jesse F. Perdue. He died in 1991.
She is survived by one son, Bruce S. Perdue of Titusville, Fla.; one brother, Henry Clay Gibson of Culpepper, Va.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at Swicegood Chapel with the Rev. Billy Scearce officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Swicegood Funeral Home.

Laura married Jesse F. Perdue. (Jesse F. Perdue was born on 21 May 1921 and died on 26 Feb 1992.)
