The 1900 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., VA, Dist 71, page 228B records Adison R. Gibson (Aug 1889) living with his parents Joseph R. (Dec 1858) and Julia (Jan 1866) Gibson and siblings Harvey (Jan 1887), Ford (June 1888), Samuel (Oct 1890), Beverly (Dec 1891) [son], Joseph (Feb 1893), Susie (May 1894). Jospeh and Julia have been married for 14 years and have had 8 children of whom 7 are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., VA, Dist 89, page 72A records Adison R. Gibson (19) living with his parents Joseph R. (49) and Julia A. (46) Gibson and siblings Samuel D. (17), Beverly V. (15) [son], Joseph R. Jr. (14), Sue A. (12), and Lou J. (4). Jospeh and Julia have been married for 21 years and have had 13 children of whom 8 are still living. Near by is John G. Adkins and family. John's daughter will soon marry Adison Gibson.

The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before February 16, 1897) for Rossie Addison dated April 27, 1942 lists his date of birth as April 8, 1891 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. He is living with his wife, Lillie Mae Gibson, Danville, Pittsylvania Co., VA. He is working for Mr. Sam Harper of Dry Fork and his physical description is 5' 9", 155 lbs with blue eyes, gray hair and ruddy complexion. Note: The obituary for his daughter, Laura Edith Gibson gives his name as Rosey Addison Gibson and his wife's name as Liile Elma Gibson; his signature on this Draft Registration is clearly R. A. Gibson.

Rossie married Lillie Elma Adkins, daughter of John G. Adkins and Mary J., circa 1914 in Pittsylvania Co, VA. (Lillie Elma Adkins was born circa 1895 in Pittsylvania Co, VA.)
