Robert Olson of Scranton died Thursday January 21, 2010 at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Center, Dunmore. His wife is the former Nancy Clark; the couple would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary January 24.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Bernard and Irene Wright Olson. Educated in Scranton Schools, he was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, serving with the 82nd Air Borne Division. He was employed for over 43 years by the Scranton Times, retiring from the advertising department. He enjoyed building Model Cars. Member of the former St. Vincent de Paul Church, Scranton.
Also surviving is a son, Robert B. Olson, Scranton; four grandchildren, Richard Pienkowski, Lottie Olson, Robert Olson, Heidi Olson; two great grandchildren, Tyler James Pienkowski and Lanee Olson; two sisters, Irene O'Hearn, Scranton and Jean Brown, Syracuse.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Leesa Ann Olson; several brothers and sisters.
A blessing service will be conducted on Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc. 1030 North Main Ave. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
