LULU AGNES EDWARDS VAUGHAN

Mrs. Rowland Vaughan died suddenly at her home in the Franklin community
Sunday afternoon in the 25th year of her life. She is survived by her husband
and a young son of 11 months, Rowland Bryan Vaughan, Jr.; by her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jesse T. Edwards; two brothers, Ryland and Claude Edwards, and by a
sister, Mrs. Theon Darden, all of Franklin and the community. Mrs. Vaughan
numbered many friends here where she was employed for some time before her
marriage as bookkeeper for C.A. Cutchins & Sons and the member of the bereaved
family have the universal sympathy of our people.

Mrs. Vaughan was a consistent and useful member of Sycamore Baptist Church,
and funeral services were held at the grave in the churchyard at Sycamore
Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Kenneth e. Burke of Norfolk, a
former pastor, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin. The body bearers
were: Hinton Schram, Jack Wggins, Otto Harcum, Presson Eley, Roy Vaughan,
Alfred Cobb, Hunter Darden and Leroy Vaughan. Honorary pallbearers were; Jesse
McClenny, S.W. Lankford, J.C. Daughtrey, George Burgess, H.L. Vaughan, M. King,
Tucker Calloway, E.L. Vaughan, Charlie Darden, George Beale, I. Wiggins, Pat
Cotton, C.J. Cobb, J. Eley, Jr., Vernon Cotton and Ben Darden.

Members of the Sycamore church choir sang "Will There be Any Stars In My
Crown?" and "Safe in the Arms Jesus" and Mrs. Kenneth E. ____ sang "Sometime
We'll Understand."
