(Nov 1892), Edward H. (Aug 1895), and Olivia (Sept 1899) living on Mulberry Street. Edward is a Carpenter and has been married to Margaret for 8 years. They have had 3 children. Note: While Edward's date of birth is listed here as April 1862, his date of birth is listed in the 1860 census as 1 year. See general notes on his grand father, Darien P. Daughtrey, for 1860 census facts. Since Covington indicates he was born in 1860 I will assign 1859 as the date of birth for Edward.

The 1910 Federal Census for Ward 8, Norfolk City., VA, District 42, page 309B dated June 11, 1900 records Edward P. West (50 - VA/VA/VA) with is wife Margaret (40 - VA/VA/VA) and children John T. (17), Edward H. (14), and Olivia (10) living at 51 Main Street. Edward is a Ship Joiner at the Naval Yard. Edward and Margaret have been married for 19 years and have had 3 children.

The 1920 Federal Census for Washington Ward, Norfolk City, VA, District 26, page 64A dated January 7, 1920 records the widow Margaret West (48 - VA/VA/VA) with her son Edward H. West (23 - VA/VA/VA) and her recently married daughter Olivia Hill (20 - VA/VA/VA) living at 123 Berkley Avenue. Also in the household is Margaret's widowed mother, Rebecca Hodges (80 - VA/NC/NC), and Olivia's husband, Joseph Hill (27 - GA/GA/GA). Edward is a Claim Agent for the Rail Road, Olivia is a Stenographer at a Law Office, and Joseph is a Building Clerk at an Express Office.

The 1930 Federal Census for Norfolk City, VA, District 62, page 31A dated April 10, 1930 records the widow Margaret L. West (62 - VA/VA/VA) with her son Edward H. West (31) and his wife Lula M. West (26 - NC/NC/NC) and their son Edward H. West Jr. (2 3/12) living at 1507 Calley Avenue. Also in the houshold is a cousin, Margaret L. Hales (31) and her daughter Margaret L. Hales (6). Edwards Sr. is an Auditor for a Dry Goods Store.

Edward married Margaret L. Hodges circa 1891 in Norfolk Co., VA. (Margaret L. Hodges was born in Nov 1870 in Virginia and died after 1936 in Norfolk City, VA.)
