The 1900 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., VA, District 27, page 137B, dated June 18, 1900 records Jas K. P. (Sept 1845) and Ballie (May 1855) Daughtrey with children Jennie J. (Oct 1875), Annie O. (Oct 1876), Lester J. (Sept 1877), Annemarie (April 1879), Sallie W. (Dec 1881), Carrie T. (Dec 1888), and Ballie W. (Sept 1893). James has been married to Ballie for 27 years. They have had 10 children of whom 8 are still living. Next door is James' brother, Jacob, and family.

Suffolk, May 14, - Funeral services for the late J.K.P. Daughtrey, prominent citizen of this county, were held this morning at 11 o'clock at the Holland Baptist Church, Holland, Va., by the Rev. Mr. Davis, pastor, assisted by the Rev. N.G. Newman, the Rev. L.F. Paulette, of Smithfield Baptist Church, and the Rev. Dr. H.J. Goodwin, pastor of the Suffolk Baptist Church.
Appropriate hymns were sung by a quartet of the Holland church, Mrs. Paul Everett, Mrs. Hendricks Jones and Mr. Darden. Active pallbearers were nephews of the deceased and the following were honorary pallbearers: J.G. Holland, George E. Bunting, of Suffolk; Dr. J.P. Whedbee, of Suffolk; E.J. Robertson, L.J. Costen, of Suffolk; J.W. Copeland, J.A. Carr, B.W. Council, J.T. Rawles, E.T. Holland, Dr. A.T. Sheffield, of Suffolk; Dr. Job G. Holland, Dr. G.G. Holland, Thomas Old, Col. E.E. Holland, Col. J.E. West, of Suffolk; W.W. Darden, H.B. Everett, A.W. Ballard, of Suffolk; J.P. Dalton, James Rawles, S.H. Wright, J.B. Morgan, J.F. Duke, W.J. Holland, I.A. Like, P.L. Everett, B.J. Beale, S.W. Holland, W.M. Aston, F.P. Milteer, E.J. Howell, R.C. Norfleet, E.J. Norfleet, J.R. Holland, C.T. Reed, Joe E. Hholland, Noah Brown, J.E. Holland, S.E. Everett, G.D. Overman, S.L. Wright, R.H. Interment was in Holland Cemetery. There were many handsome floral designs.

Obitury for MARY BALLIE ASHBURN DAUGHTREY
Suffolk, Oct. 28 - (AP) - Mrs. Ballie Daughtrey, widow of J.K.P. Daughtrey, died this afternoon at 5:15 o'clock at her home in Holland. She was a member of the Holland Baptist Church. Survivors include one son. Lester J. Daughtery, of Holland; six daughters, Misses Jeanne, Ophelia and Sallie Daughtrey, of Holland; Miss Carrie Daughtrey of Richmond; Mrs. E.K. Joyner, of Suffolk,. And Mrs. E.W. Twine, of Holland; one sister Mrs. Julia Oates, of Norfolk; three brothers, Charlie Ashburn, of Norfolk, and W.P. and Howard Ashburn, of Virginia Beach.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the residence. Ministers who will officiate include the Rev. W.H. Corbitt, the Rev. Carl Key, Dr. W.S. Newsome, Dr. H.J. Goodwin and the Rev. L.F. Paulette. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery.

Suffolk, Oct. 30 - Funeral services for Mrs. Ballie Daughtrey were conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the residence in Holland, by the Rev. W.H. Corbitt, the Rev. L.F. Paulette, Dr. H. J. Goodwin and the Rev. Carl Key. Burial was in the Holland Cemetery.
The Rev. Carl Key read the selection "Crossing the Bar" there were many floral tributes and the casket was covered with a pall of lilies and roses.
Active pallbearers were Dr. Edwin Joyner, Willard Daughtrey, William Joyner, Gordon Twynne, James Daughtrey, Alton Newton, Jr., Jeff Robertson, Henry
Daughtrey. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers.
