Obituary for KERIN SCHRADER AHLBORN
Died peacefully under the care of Beaumont Hospice on Thursday October 1, 2009, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Kerin Elizabeth Schrader was born September 30, 1935 in Flint, Michigan, to the late George Hutton Schrader and Elizabeth Perrin Schrader. She was raised in Saginaw, Michigan, and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1953 and from Michigan State University in 1957. She married Fred C Ahlborn on December 29, 1956 and they made their homes and raised their family in Saginaw, South Bend and Mishawaka, Indiana, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1997. She later returned to Michigan and had resided at All Seasons of Rochester Hills since 2006. Kerin is survived by two sons, Brian Hutton Ahlborn of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Mark Frederick Ahlborn of Houghton, Michigan, and one daughter, Sara Lynn Ahlborn of Rogers City, Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Veronika Li Ahlborn and Maxwell Li Ahlborn of Bloomfield Hills, and Jessica Marie Ahlborn and Jacob Hutton Ahlborn of Houghton. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Kimberly Phillip Schrader, and is also survived by sister-in-law Elsie Cawley of Gaylord, Michigan, brother-in-law Jim Ahlborn of Loxahatchee, Florida, and daughters-in-law Leslie Li of Bloomfield Hills and Tess Ahlborn of Houghton. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday October 12 in the Peelor Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, 15102. Kerin's family will receive friends in the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kerin's memory may be made to your local hospice organization or to the Hospice Foundation of America.
