KINSTON, N.C.- Laura Hines Privette, 102 of 505 Atlantic Ave., died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Privette was a homemaker. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Emory officiating. Mrs. Privette was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Privette; three sons, Robert Privette, George Privette and Harry Privette; and a daughter, Betty P. Grady. She is survived by three daughters, Helen P. Hill and Ava P. Cooke and husband, Tommy, all of Kinston, and Cherie P. Guthrie and husband, Jimmy of Morehead City, N.C.; son John T. Privette of Kinston, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, Frank Privette, Cheryl Stryon, Andy Grady, Laura Mills, Robert Grady, Pat Daughtrey, Claudia Branchaud, Meri Beth Carr, Cookie Emory, Tommy Cooke, Jr., Susan Colomanio, Judy Morton, Ronnie Cooke, Johnna Privette and Jay Guthrie; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special friend and long time caregiver Windy Kilpatrick and a special caregiver, Peggy Hall. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Laura married James Clarence Privette. (James Clarence Privette was born on 27 Mar 1900 in Wilson Co., North Carolina, died on 24 Apr 1966 in Kinston, Lenoir Co., North Carolina and was buried on 26 Apr 1966 in Westview Cemetery, Kinston, Lenoir Co., NC.) The cause of his death was Coronary Occlusion.
