The 1900 Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA, Ward 34, District 903, page 128B, dated June 11, 1900 records Thomas Monteith (Feb 1896) with his parents Thomas (May 1855 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland) and Anna (Dec 1869 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland) Monteith and siblings Lilly (Oct 1885 - PA), Ida (July 1892 - PA), Margarete (Sept 1894 - PA), John Wesley (Feb 1898 - PA), and Anna May (May 1900 - PA) living at 5536 Oxford Street. Thomas and Anna have been married for 9 years. Anna has had 5 children all of whom are still living. Thomas indicates he immigrated in 1882.

Obituaries
Thomas J. Monteith, 62, 5243 Springfield rd., Upper Darby, died Thursday in Osteopathic Hospital, 48th and Spruce sts., Philadelphia, after an illness of six weeks.
Monteith, who was a carpenter for United Engineers & Contructors, Inc., Philadelphia, is survived by his wife, Mary E. Monteith (nee Selkirk), of the same address; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Savage, 607 Rose Lln., Morton, Mrs. Mildred Hodanish, Trenton, NJ; Mrs. Joan Monkman, 914 South av., Secane; and Mrs. Barbara Alba, Norristown; three sons, Thomas J. Jr. 510 Charmont av., Folcroft; John, 313 McKiney av., Milmont Park; and William P. 2241 Theresa av., Morton; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be Monday 11a.m. at the M. F. Williams Funeral Homes, Baltimore and Summit avs., Clifton Heights, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia.
