By 1910 Mary's mother has remarried: The 1910 Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA, 44th Ward, District 1144, page 15B, dated April 19, 1910, records Mary Selkirk (11 - Scotland/Scotland/Scotland) living with her mother Margaret Preston (36 - Scotland/Scotland/Scotland) and step father, Robert Preston Jr. (35 - PA/England/England) living at 5118 Marion Avenue. Also in the household is Robert's son from his former marriage, Robert Preston (10 - PA), Robert's son with Margaret, William Preston (11/12), and Robert's widowed father, Robert Preston Sr. (65 - England/England/England). Both Robert and his father are Moulders at an Iron Factory. Robert Sr. immigrated in 1875. Note: Robert Preston married Mary Emma Donovan in 1899 (Philadelphia Marriage Records). The 1900 Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA, 27th Ward, District 657, page 281A, dated June 7, 1900, records Robert Preston (Nov 1874 - PA/England/England) with his wife Emma (Feb 1879 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) and son Robert Jr. (Aug 1899) living at 4528 Linmore Street. Robert and Emma have been married for 2 years. Robert is employed as a Moulder. Philadelphia death records show that Robert and Emma had another child, Mary Emma Preston, who died May 12, 1902 as a premature birth. She was 1 day old. The mother died 11 days later from sepsis on May 23, 1902. They are both buried at Holy Cross Cemetery. By 1920 Margaret's husband, Robert Joseph Preston, has died: The 1920 Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA, 34th Ward, District 1169, page 165B, dated January 20, 1920, records the widow Margaret Preston (44 - Scotland/Scotland/Scotland) with her son William (11) and her father-in-law Robert Preston (76 - England/England/England) living at 1617 Conestoga. Margart indicates she immigrated in 1901 while Robert immigrated in 1878. Robert is still a Moulder at an Iron Foundry.
Mary is listed as the informant on her husband's June 1958 death certificate.
