The 1930 Federal Census for Tifton, Tift Co., Georgia, District 4, page 189B, dated April 7, 1930 records Harriet Harmon (52 - VA/NC/NC) and her husband Willard L. Harmon (66 - GA/NC/NC) and their children Harriet E. Harmon (25 - GA), Charles G. Harmon (20 - GA), and Allen Harmon (15 - GA) living at 316 6th Street. Willard is Superintendent of County Schools. Also in the household are boarder Francis Callalen (25) and Kathrin Harmon (26) who are both single, female, high school teachers.
The 1940 Federal Census for Tifton, Tift Co., Georgia, District 137-4, page 58A, dated April 30, 1940 records the widow W. L. Harmon (65 - VA/NC/NC) living with her son J. Charles Harmon (28 - GA) and his wife Terah Harmon (32 - GA) living at 622 W 10th Street. Also in the household si Charles' step-son, John Matthews (16). Charles has completed 2 years of college while W. L. [Henrietta] and John have completed 1 year of college. Terah has complete 4 years of high school. Charles is employed as a Live Stock Buyer for a Meat Packing Company earning $1,000 during the last 52 weeks. Terah is a Stenographer for the Extension Service earning $1,260 during the last 52 weeks. They own their own home valued at $4,000.
