Theresa's family appears to have been in Mobile since around the time of the Civil War and the spelling of the surname varies greatly. The 1861 Mobile City Directory records A. Ledoyen, jewelry, 121 daupin, res 60 s jackson. Many additional directories give the name Anthony Ledoyen, watchmaker and jeweler.

The 1870 Federal Census for Mobile, Ward 7, Alabama, Mobile P. O., page 216A, dated July 16, 1870 records Antonio Leoyen (27 - France) with his wife Eliza (26 - France) and children Jennie (12 - AL), Victor (9 - AL), Amead (6 - AL), Tracer (5 - AL) [Theresa?], and Henrietta (3 - AL) [Hattie?]. Antonio is a Jeweler with real estate valued at $500 and a personal estate valued at $500.

It appears that by 1880, Antonio has died and several of the children have been "farmed out" ... interesting take on the family surname in these records below ...

The 1880 Federal Census for Mobile, Ward 4, Mobile Co., Alabama, District 138, page 330A, dated June 15, 1880 records Hattie (12) and Josephine (8) Ledoyene as orphans. Note: See general notes for a death record for Hattie Ledayen / Ledoyene
The 1880 Federal Census for Port of Mobile, Ward 4, Mobile Co., Alabama, District 140, page 357B, dated June 1, 1880 records Theresa Leedon (13 - AL/France/France) as a domestic servant in the home of Margaret Quigley at 245 Dauphin Street .
The 1880 Federal Census for Port of Mobile, Ward 4, Mobile Co., Alabama, District 137, page 304B, dated June 3, 1880 records Victor Ledoin (20 - AL/AL/AL) as a boarder. Victor works in a Cotton Mill.

Theresa married David K. Daughtry, son of David (Davy) R. Daughtry and Unknown, circa 1894 in Mobile, Alabama. (David K. Daughtry was born circa 1873 in Alabama and died on 5 Apr 1918 in Mobile, Alabama.)
