Easley
Mrs. Josephine Hunter Cutchin, 83, of the Foothills Presbyterian Home, formerly of 210 Walnut Hill Drive, Easley, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.

Born in Owings (Laurens Co., S.C.), Mrs. Cutchin was the daughter of the late Joseph Johnson and Nancy Craig Hunter. Her beloved adoptive mother was the late Martha Bull Hunter. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and taught in the Easley area schools from 1936 until her retirement in 1976. Mrs. Cutchin was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Presbyterian Women of the Church.

Mrs. Cutchin was a charter member of the Jessamine Garden Club and was a member of various bridge clubs. In addition, she belonged to the Greenville Women's Club and was active in Scouting.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Braxton Murray Cutchin Jr. of the home; three sons, Braxton Murray Cutchin III and his wife, Rachel, of Greenville, Johnson Hunter Cutchin Sr. and his fiancee, Debbie Bagwell, of Easley and William Joseph Cutchin and his wife, Gloria, of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Mary Josephine Cutchin Phail and her husband, Andrew, of Easley; two sisters, Margaret Hunter Bishop of Greenville and Patsy Hunter Loftin of Mooresville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Robert Braxton Cutchin (Lynn), of San Diego, Calif., Lee Cutchin Yarborough (Hubert), of Asheville, N.C., the Rev. Josephine Cutchin Holler (David), of Columbia, Johnson Hunter Cutchin Jr. of Easley, Amy Cutchin Fraikin (Gaetan), of San Diego, Calif., Nancy Kaiser Cutchin of Tallahassee, Fla., and Kevin Ray Ross (Sandy), of Easley; and three great-grandchildren, Cassidy Rae Ross, Antonia Stewart Holler and Chanel Kayla Fraikin. Mrs. Cutchin was predeceased by a brother, Joseph J. Hunter Jr. of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Ken Broman-Fulks and the Rev. Dr. Pam Patrick Cole. Burial will be in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foothills Presbyterian Home, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, S.C. 29642.
