NORFOLK - Helen White Daughtrey Taylor, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2005 in a local health care center. She was retired from the management staff of C & P Telephone Company. Born in Franklin, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mary White Daughtrey and John Oscar Hollomon Daughtrey.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the C & P Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include a sister, Pope Burgess of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, John Allen Daughtrey of Exmore, Va.; a number of nieces and nephews which include, Judith R. Smith and Linda R. Mihilasky both of Norfolk, and W. Braxton Ritter of Broadway, N.C.; and a number of great nieces, and great great nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sat., May 21, 2005 in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rev. Keith Martin. Memorial contributions may be made to Talbot Park Baptist Church, 6919 Granby St., Norfolk, VA 23505. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
