Also in the household is George Carr (64 - RI), most probably Caroline's father.
The 1850 Federal Census for the Town of Laurens, Otsego Co., NY, page 238A, dated August 20, 1850 records Ashbel Armstrong (54 - NY) with his wife Amy Armstrong (48 - NY) and children Sally A. Armstrong (22 - NY), Lucy Armstrong (21 - NY), Eliza Armstrong (20 - NY), Ezeriah (18 - NY), Erastus Armstrong (17 - NY), Elisha J. Armstrong (15 - NY), and Waity Armstrong (9 - NY). Ashbel is a farmer with real estate valued at $2,500. Also in the household is Sally Sherman (50 - NY).

Also in the household are Hellen's siblings Elisha Armstrong (35 - NY), Francelia Armstrong (15 - NY). Both Erastus and Elisha are employed as Merchant Com. Another record regarding Edwin H. Young dated September 24, 1930 from the Adjutant General's Office, War Department in Washington D. C. reports Edwin H. Young, Co. B, 41st Virginia Infantry, C. S. A. enlisted April 11, 1862, at Norfolk. Assigned from Militia on that date. Muster roll Sept. & Oct. 1864 (latest on file) shows him absent. Prisoner of War, a Private. Prisoner of War records shat that he was captured October 27, 1864, at Petersburg, paroled at Point Lookout, Md and transferred to Aiken's Landing, Va. March 14, 1865, for exchange, a Private. No later record found. Not found as Edwin Henry Young, nor as of Co. E.
