The 1880 Federal Census for Gatesville Township, Gates Co., N.C., District 55, page 152A, dated June 3, 1880 records the widow Nancy Daughdy (sic) [Doughtie] (45 - NC/NC/NC) and her son Jospeh Doughtie (15 - NC/NC/NC).

The 1900 Federal Census for Gatesville Township, Gates Co., N.C., District 41 page 3B, dated June 6, 1900 records the widow Nancy Doughtie (May 1835 - NC/NC/NC). Nancy reports having had 2 children both of whom are still living.
The 1900 Federal Census for Hall Township, Gates Co., N.C., District 42, page 20A, dated June 13, 1900 records Joseph Doudy (sic) [Doughtie] (Jan 1864 - NC/NC/NC) as a "Hireling" at the farm of Thomas Parker.
