The 1940 Federal Census for Maney's Neck Township, Hertford, Bertie Co., North Carolina, District 46-7, page 104A, dated April 11, 1930 records Minnie Miles (58 - NC) and Charlie Miles (69 - NC).

The 1930 Federal Census for Murfreesboro Township, Hertford, Bertie Co., North Carolina, District 8, page 239A, dated April 1930 records Minnie Miles (50 - NC/NC/NC) and Charlie Miles (59 - VA/NC/NC) with a son, Willie (32 - VA/VA/NC). Also in the household is a nephew, Edward Banks (18). Charles has been married to Minnie for 13 years and is working as a Foreman at Logwoods while both Willie and Edward are Basket Makers at a Basket Mill.
Note: Edward Banks is the son of Minnie's sister, Sarah Fannie Doughtie.

The 1920 Federal Census for St. Johns Township, Bertie Co., North Carolina, District 47, page 131B, dated January 9, 1920 records Minnie Miles (40 - NC/NC/NC) and Charles T. Miles (49) with their children Willie L. Miles (22 - VA/VA/NC) and Eva T. Miles (17 - 17 - VA/VA/NC). Also in the household are a neice, Beulah M. Banks (8), and nephew, Edward P. Banks (7). Charles is a manager at a Lumber Mill.

Miles (34 - VA/VA/VA) and their children Willie L. (12 - VA), Willie M. (10 - VA) , and Eva T. (7 - VA). Charles is a Laborer in a Saw Mill and has been married to Ada for 12 years. They have had 4 children of whom, 3 are still living.
