The 1870 Federal Census for Pine Creek, Carroll Co., VA, Hillsville P. O., page 452B, dated August 19, 1870 records Nancy (61 - VA) and Charles (64 - VA) Smith with children William L. Smith (25) and Zacariah Smith (18). They have real estate valued at $1,000 and a personal estate valued at $350.

Nancy married Charles Smith on 16 Feb 1830 in Grayson Co., VA. (Charles Smith was born on 28 Jul 1805 in Franklin Co., Virginia, died on 10 May 1891 in Carroll Co., VA and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Ocala, Carroll County, Virginia.)
