bullet  General Notes:

the following is from http://home.comcast.net/~tinasgenealogy/surnames/king/loupero/michael/michadd8.htm [copywrited by Henry L King, 1997]:
William King patented 540 acres in Nansemond County. The land was described as being on Kings Branch of Cypress Swamp. Although a Virginia patent the land was in North Carolina after the line between the two colonies was surveyed in 1728. The land has been located rather precisely. On current maps of the area, now a part of Gates County, it is at a small community named Topsey. Two earlier grants in Nansemond County near "old Mr. King" could be to this same William King. This cannot be ascertained. Suffice to say that the 1703 grant was certainly to William King. It will later be shown that Solomon King whose Bible record connects him to Michael lived on this same land.
There were a number of patents to land adjoining William in which he is mentioned as the adjoining land owner. These continue up to the apparent time of his death, probably between 1725 and 1728. Because this area was a part of Nansemond County at the time, there are no surviving records, other than land records. The name of his wife is not known. Several of the children of William are shown in Solomons Bible. I have estimated that William was probably born about 1660 and died in 1725.
What I have shown here is all there is. Since this area was still a part of Nansemond County when William died there is no surviving will or estate papers. Three children I have shown for William are found in Solomon's Bible record
