ABILENE -- Jeane A. Hague, 73, of Abilene, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, Abilene, is handling arrangements

Memorial services for Jeane A. Hague, age 73, of Abilene, will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Presbyterian Church in Abilene with Reverend Robert Frasier officiating. Mrs. Hague passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene.

Jeane was born May 19, 1938 in Joliet, Illinois the daughter of John R. and Marjory (Grant) Adkins. She graduated from Joliet Township High School and received her bachelor's degree from Beloit College.

Jeane was united in marriage to James A. "Jim" Hague on December 20, 1958 in Joliet, Illinois. She was the owner of the Magic Needle Fabric Store and owned the Eastlawn Mobile Home Park along with her husband Jim. She also was a substitute teacher for the Abilene Middle School and a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church singing in the church choir. Jeane taught swimming lessons for the Abilene Parks and Recreation for many years and was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader along with being a docent at the Eisenhower Museum, the Dickinson County Historical Society and volunteered at the Great Plains Theater.

Survivors include her husband James of the home; daughters Marjory and husband Larry Ostman of Millville, California, Jeannette and husband Tom Luedke of Berryton, Kansas; Kathleen and husband John McKee of Abilene; son Doug and wife Lynette Hague of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother Charles Adkins of Dallas, Texas; and ten grandchildren. Jeane was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation is planned and private inurnment will be at a later date in the Abilene Cemetery. Jeane's family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. \endash 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 25th at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Dickinson County and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd Street, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
