William is employed as a Carpenter. Also in the household are John W. (40) and Francis A. (41) Dennis. John is a Deputy Sheriff.

The 1870 Federal Census for Giles Township, Amelia Co., VA, page 304A, dated August 6, 1870 records [John] Lucius Mooring (18 - VA) living with his parents William (49 - VA) and Martha (50 - VA) Mooring and sister Francis Mooring (15 - VA). William is a carpenter.

William Wyatt Moring was born in 1818 at the Moring home place in Prince Edward County. He was the oldest of Caswell and Emily's nine boys. He served in "H" Company of the 44th Virginia Infantry of Amelia County, Virginia alongside his son Walter Fabius Maximus Moring. He was dismissed late in 1861 for being "over age" for service.
