Just wanted to let you know that Mom died last night at 8:30. Leaving now, will be at Ritchie's in Franklin. Don't know all arrangements yet, but do know that Wright's Funeral Home in Franklin will be handling the funeral arrangements. Ginny

Louise Doughtie Cutchin, 93, widow of Jacob Oliver Cutchin Sr., passed away Jan. 19. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Carroll and Lucy Winborne Doughtie.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Virginia Dare Layman and husband, Robert, and Judy Louise Childress and husband, B.C.; two sons, Jacob Oliver "Jake" Cutchin Jr. and wife, Ruth, Gerald Edmund Cutchin and wife, Shirley; two sisters, Allie D. Lee and husband, Ike, Garland D. Brinkley and husband, Cyrus; one brother, Harry Gordon Doughtie and wife, Betty; eight grandchildren, Scott and Chorey Cutchin, Tammy Craft, Ritchie Layman, Robin Byrd, Wendy Cutchin, Donna and Donnie Vaughan; 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cutchin was predeceased by two sisters, Sarah Howell and Hazel Miles; a brother, Luther C. Doughtie Jr.; and a grandchild, Bambi.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Clyde Alderman officiating. Burial will be private in the Cutchin Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to South Quay Baptist Church, 9617 South Quay Road, Suffolk , Va., 23437, or Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va., 23439.
